Box and label goods with the room they are meant to go into in.

If you're going to pack your own goods then make sure you box and label them with the room they are meant to go into in the new property. This makes for easier packing and unpacking at the other end

Make sure you prepare an ‘essentials’ pack in the event that the electricity, gas or other utility is not operating in your new property.

Lastly, make sure you prepare an 'essentials' pack in the event that the electricity, gas or other utility is not operating in your new property on the day you arrive. Some of the items to pack would be things like flashlights, a first aid kit, mobile phone (fully charged), coffee/tea, long life milk, biscuits, canned food and so on

These are just some basics, you can do more or less but the more you do leading up to the move the better prepared you will be and the less stress you will encounter.
